The Whites have beaten off competition from several other championship clubs to sign Jermaine Beckford from non league Wealdstone. The 22-year-old striker has scored at a rate of almost a goal a game this season for the Ryman League club and is looked upon as one for the future.

If he is half as popular as the last Wealdstone product to pull on the White shirt he will be doing an excellent job, Vinnie Jones and Stuart Pearce are both products of the club.

The loans deadline for this season is rapidly approaching and I still think we need another central defender to take us through to the end of the season, step up Dom Matteo just in case Killa breaks down again.

Remember: You heard it here first!!!
